Midfield Patriots

The 3a Midfield Patriots got a win on their home opener as they defeated Holly Pond 44 - 28. The Stars Of The Game For Midfield were sophomore Anthony Johnson with five touchdowns total four rushing and one passing on 13 carries for 114 yards, Karsten Threatt with three receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown, a rushing touchdown with 142 total yards and six defensive tackles, and Ahmad Frost with seven tackles. The win improves the Patriots overall record to (2 - 0) next Midfield will go on the road to face-off against the 3a (1 - 1) Vinemont Eagles in their next region game.

Bessemer Academy

The Bessemer Academy Rebels beat the Monroe Academy Volunteer at home 38 - 21. The Stars Of The Game for Midfield were PJ McDonald with 10 passing competitions for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns, Jarvis Dacry with 10 rushes for 169 yards and a touchdown and 6 tackles, Josh McFarland with 4 receptions for 89 yards, Judson Hogeland with 3 receptions for 49 yards and 2 touchdowns and 11 tackles, Collin Timmons with 7 tackles, Lebbeus Overton with 7 tackles and 3 sacks, Jarvis Dancy, Samad Muhammad and Brandon Summerlin with 1 interception each, and Jackson Stewart with 5 PAT’S and 1 field goal for 8 points total. With the win the Rebels improve their overall record to (2 - 2), next Bessemer Academy will host the (4 - 0) Glenwood Gators.

Hueytown Golden Gophers

The 6a Hueytown Golden Gophers defeated the 6a Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa Patriots on the road 38 - 17. The Stars Of The Game for the Hueytown Golden Gophers included Alex Young with 167 yards passing with 13 attempts and a touchdown, Roydell Williams with 27 rushing attempts for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns, one reception for 33 yards and one pass for 40 yards, Mike Carpenter with 9 rushes for 46 yards and a touchdown, Quindarius Mayes with a rushing touchdown and 4 receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown, and Jordan Ivory with 7 receptions for 109 yards. With the win the Golden Gophers improve their record to (3 - 0), this week Hueytown is off as they prepare for their homecoming against on September 20 against the 6a Brookwood Panthers.

McAdory Yellow Jackets

The 6a McAdory Yellow Jackets won their first region game at home against the 6a Northridge Jaguars 28 - 7. The Stars Of The Game for the McAdory Yellow Jackets included Sophomore quarterback Cameron Shepherd who passed for 63 yards in 6 attempts in for injured starting quarterback Desmond Dortch, Austin Clarke with 148 yards rushing and three touchdowns, and De’Arrion Riddle who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown. The win improved the Yellow Jackets overall record to (2 - 1) and gives them their first region win, next McAdory will travel less than 2 miles to take on their next regional team the 6a (2-0) Bessemer City Purple Tigers.

Oak Grove Tigers

The 4a Oak Grove Tigers lost at home to the 4a Haleyville Lions 7 - 0. The loss drops the Tigers overall record to (0 - 3), next Oak Grove will take on 4a (0 - 2) Curry Yellow Jackets in their next regional matchup on the road.

Fairfield Tigers

The 5a Fairfield Tigers got their first win and gave the 5a John Carroll Cavaliers their first loss 48 - 14. The Star Players for Fairfield included Eric Handley with seven completions for 100 yards and three touchdowns, Marquel Holmes with 12 rushes for 110 years, Malachi Holt-Bennett with four receptions for 79 yards and three touchdowns, Omar Young with 131 total yards a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. The Stars Of The Game For the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers included Jharod Johnson with eight passing attempts for 84 yards and a touchdown, Jeremiah Gibbs with a rushing touchdown and Ethan Cull with three receptions for 57 yards. The Fairfield Tigers improve their record to (1 - 2), next they will face-off against the 5a (2 - 0) Wenonah Dragons in a regional matchup at Wenonah. With the loss, the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers overall record drops to (2 - 1), next they will host the 5a (1 - 2) Parker Thundering Herd in their next regional matchup.

Pleasant Grove Spartans

The 5a Pleasant Grove Spartans get their third straight win of the season as they defeated the 5a Briarwood Christian Lions on the road 26 - 14. The Star Players for the Pleasant Grove Spartans included Zyquez Perryman with 26 completions for 431 yards and three touchdowns, Markell Joran with six rushing attempts for 41 yards and one touchdown, and Christian Lewis with nine receptions for 171 yards and a touchdown. The Spartans improve their overall record to (3 - 0), next Pleasant Grove will go on the road for their next regional battle against the 5a (2 - 1) Ramsay Rams.

West Blocton Tigers

The 4a West Blocton Tigers get their first win of the season by defeating the Sipsey Valley Bears 34 - 13 at home in their first regional matchup. With the win, the Tigers improve their overall record to (1 - 2) and will host another regional matchup this week again the 4a (2 - 0) American Christian Patriots.

Brookwood Panthers

The 6a Brookwood Panthers got railed at home by the 6a Paul Bryant Stampede 70 - 12 in their first regional matchup. The loss drops the Panthers overall record to (1 - 2), next Brookwood will host the 6a (1 - 2) Hillcrest Tuscaloosa Patriots in their next regional battle.

Bessemer City Purple Tigers

The 6a Bessemer City Purple Tigers were off this week resting up to take on the 6a (1 - 1) McAdory Yellow Jackets @ home in a regional battle.
