In a regional game, the 6a Hueytown Golden Gophers beat the 6a Hillcrest Tuscaloosa Patriots on the road 38 - 30. The stars of the game for Hueytown were Earl Woods with 10 completions for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns and 33 rushes for 201 yards and a touchdown, Jakhael Rowser with 18 rushes for 70 yards and a touchdown and 2 receptions for 9 yards and a touchdown, De’Andre Coleman with 5 receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown, Evan Brown with a receiving touchdown, Mackenzie Hall with 1 reception for 36 yards. The win improves Hueytown’s overall record to (4 - 1) and regional record to (3 - 0). Next, the Golden Gophers will play their homecoming game against the 6a (3 - 2) Athens Golden Eagles.

# 8 McAdory Yellow Jackets vs Bessemer City Purple Tigers

The 6a # 8  McAdory Yellow Jackets defeated the 6a Bessemer City Purple Tigers in a regional game. The stars of the game for McAdory were Cam Shepherd with ten completions with 146 yards passing with four rushes for 35 yards and three touchdowns, Jabari Strait with four receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown, Rod Thomas with 5 rushes for 15 yards and 2 receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown, Aden Boyd with 7 rushes for 34 yards and 1 reception for 28 yards and 2 touchdowns, Rashun Howard with 2 receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown, Christian Griggs with 5 rushes for 37 yards, Peyton with 3 rushes for 11 yards and touchdown, Jacorey Whitted with 2 receptions for 21 yards and Kristian Merritt with 1 reception for 6 yards. The loss drops Bessemer’s overall record to (0 - 5) and regional record to (0 - 3). Next, the Purple Tigers will go on the road to face the 6a (4 - 1) Sidney Lanier Poets. Midfield Patriots

The 2a Midfield Patriots lost on the road against the 2a Sulligent Blue Devils 38 - 14 in a regional game. The stars of the game for Midfield were Anthony Johnson with a rushing touchdown and passing touchdown and 10 tackles and Theo Gibson with 1 receiving touchdown. The loss drops Midfield’s overall record to (3 - 1) and regional record to (2 - 1). Next, the Patriots will play their homecoming game against the 3a (0 - 3) Tarrant Wildcats.

# 2 Pleasant Grove Spartans 

The 5a #2 Pleasant Grove Spartans beat the 5a Carver Birmingham Rams 55 - 12 in Pleasant Groves homecoming in a regional game. The stars of the game for Pleasant Grove was Alex Young with 10 completions for 318 yards and 5 touchdowns, Cam Harris with 3 receptions for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns, and an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown, Demarcus Lacey with 3 receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown and 5 rushes for 50 yards, Tadarius Parker 1 reception for 71 yards and a touchdown, Brayden Coleman with 2 receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown, and Jayden Hunter with an Interception returned 65yards for a touchdown. The win improves Pleasant Groves’s overall record to (3 - 1) and regional record to (3 - 0). Next, the Spartans will play 5a # 3 (5 - 0) Central Clay County Volunteers at Legion Field.

Oak Grove Tigers

The 4a Oak Grove Tigers lost to the 4a Fayette County Tigers 00 - 28 in a regional game. West Blocton Tigers

The 4a West Blocton Tigers defeated the 4a Dallas County Hornets 49 - 20 at home in a regional game. The win improves West Blocton’ss overall record to (5 - 0) and regional record to (3 - 0). This week the Tigers will be off and will next return to action on October 1 against the 4a Montevallo Bulldogs on the road in their next regional battle.

Brookwood Panthers

The 6a Brookwood Panthers fell to the 6a Northridge Jaguars in a regional game 18 - 35. The loss drops Brookwood’s overall record to (0 - 5) and region record to (0 - 3). Next, the Panthers will host the 5a (2 -3) Sipsey Valley Bears.
