McAdory High School Senior Golf Star Jade Morris recently made school history becoming the first female in McAdory High School History to receive a scholarship to play golf at the collegiate level. Morris received a scholarship to attend Jefferson State Community College and become a member of their golf team. Jade began swinging clubs at the age of 8 years old and played for three years with the LPGA Girls golf team at Robert Trent Jones Oxmoor Valley. She played golf for two years while at McAdory middle school and played for four years at McAdory High School. Her senior year at McAdory Morris won the 2019 Jefferson County tournament at Woodward Country Club and qualified for the substate tournament in Florence, Alabama. She made the All-County two years in a row in 2018 and 2019. Jade is a graduate of the LPGA Girls Golf Academy in Dallas, TX. At McAdory, she was also on the dance team for 2 years, took 4 years of AP English and AP History, was involved in health and emergency services classes, and was a member of HOSA her senior year. Morris plans to study nursing at Jefferson State. She is the granddaughter of Terry and Beverly Morris, daughter of Kris Morris of Mccalla.
