Judson Ray Hogeland recently graduated from Bessemer Academy with the AISA Advanced Honors Diploma. For his outstanding accomplishments on and off the field, Hogeland received several scholarship offers including Birmingham Southern, Ithaca College (NY), Shorter University (GA), Millsaps (MS), Southern Nazarene (OK), Faulkner University, Wheaten College (IL), Saint Johns (MN) and many others. Hogeland recently signed to play football for the Faulkner University Eagles, where he received both an academic and athletic scholarship. On the field at Bessemer Academy, Hogeland was a 4-year starter and received 3 State Championship rings and was named the 2019 defensive player of the year. Some of his other accomplishments on the field at Bessemer Academy include 1st team all-state 2 times his junior and senior year, 2 times All BHM team, selected to play in the AISA all-star game, chosen to play in 2 All American games, received the BA headhunter award for 3 consecutive years. He played both defense and offense for Bessemer Academy. On defense, he played strong safety and outside linebacker, and on offense, he played wide receiver and tight end. Hogeland’s senior year stats included 127 tackles, 3 interceptions 1 for a touchdown 3 kickoff returns for a touchdown, and a total of 8 touchdowns. During his career at Bessemer Academy, he had a total of 326 tackles. While at Bessemer Academy, he was a member of the Beta Club, where he served as the Chaplain in his senior year and was a 2-time AISA state science fair winner. At Faulkner, Hogeland will begin his journey to obtain a degree in physical therapy. Congratulations, Judson Ray Hoglend, on your scholarship to play football at for the Eagles.
