Hueytown’s Jolynn “JoJo” Wilkinson debuted this past weekend in the ARCA Menards Series West NAPA AUTO PARTS Colorado 150 for Bill McAnally Racing, driving the no.19 Instacoat Premium Products Toyota Camry at Colorado National Speedway. Wilkinson arrives in the series after a busy season of Pro Late Model and BMR Drivers Academy races to prepare her for the 625hp stock cars.
Due to rain, there were no practice runs or qualifying, so they went right into the race. Thanks to the BMR Team’s hard work in the points hard work, “JoJo” started the race in pole position # 8. During the 150 lap race, she fell back in position and out of the top #10 but, in the later stages of the race, managed to pull herself back up into the top 10 and finish the race at # 8.
The NAPA AUTO PARTS Colorado 150 will also air on NBC Sports Network on Wednesday, August 11 at 3 p.m. Eastern. The black, white, and red Toyota is also supported by Innovative Waterproofing Solutions.
Wilkinson has accumulated ten starts in the BMR Drivers Academy – a NASCAR Driver Development Program – this season with several runner-up finishes and fast-times across three different California race tracks. She also tested for BMR in January.
Jolynn “JoJo” Wilkinson is the youngest female in the nation racing in the Pro Late Model Division at the age of 16. She will be a senior this upcoming year at Hueytown High School. JoJo is an honor roll student, a beauty pageant winner, and a cheerleader for the Hueytown Golden Gophers. Jolynn “JoJo” Wilkinson is sponsored by Instacoat Premium Products, Automart South, In and Out Automotive, Dawson Auto Sales, and Innovative Water Proofing Solutions.
