Hueytown High School 2020 Senior Caullin Bracy recently signed a scholarship to play basketball for the Coastal Alabama Warhawks. Bracy was the top scorer in the 2020 season for Hueytown with 311 points. He also led the Golden Gophers in 3 pointers with 52 and in steals with 47. Bracy was named Class 6a All-Tournament and helped Hueytown secure the runner-up position in the area tournament with a surprise victory over McAdory. In January of 2020, Bracy was named player of the game at the 29th Annual Hotbed Classic held in Mississippi. Caullin dedicated his Senior season to his late Granddaddy, Rev. Douglas Bender, whose untimely death on June 30, 2019, rocked him to the core. He was Caullin’s biggest fan. But Bracy persevered and had an accomplished season that garnered him the scholarship. Caullin has also been very involved in community service with the Hueytown basketball team. These include giving out popsicles to local daycare centers and meeting and greets at the elementary schoolsBracy plans on majoring in health sciences while attending Coastal Alabama Community College in Brewton, Alabama. Congratulations, Caullin Bracy, on receiving a scholarship to play basketball for the Warhawks. We are excited to see where your future leads and the great things that you accomplish.
