At a special reveal party, on Saturday, January 25th held at her family on home McAdory High School Senior Volleyball Player Sidney Nolan announced what University she would be attending. Sidney has gotten a lot of scholarship offers from various schools some of which include Tennessee State University, LeMoyne Owen College, Jacksonville State University and Dillard University. But she narrowed her chooses down two Tennessee State University in Nashville and LeMoyne Owen College in Memphis and revealed where the next chapter of her life would take her.

Sidney has been a student athlete for six years now and is a senior at McAdory. She started her career at McAdory Middle School and moved on to McAdory High School where she has sharpened her skills in Volleyball and is a Setter and Defensive Specialist. During the 2018 season at McAdory, Sidney earned the prestigious Gold Jacket Offense award, which is usually given to a hitter. While at McAdory she had the privilege of playing under under the coaching of Tammy Richardson and Ryan Gravlee.

Sidney has received alot of awards in her volleyball career some of which include : McAdory HS JV Hustle Award, Silver and Gold awards for club volleyball such as: Great Smokey, SRVA 2nd Place in Gold and Gulf Coast Classic Silver Champions.

She is very active in her church and volunteers at local Soup Kitchens and the Ronald McDonald House. Currently Sidney holds a 3.4 GPA at McAdory and is closing in on finishing with a 3.5.

At the reveal party the house was filled with anxious family and friends waiting to hear Sidney’s big announcement. The dinning room was decorated with balloons and refreshments but was divided in half by the colors and logos of the two different schools Tennessee State University Blue & White on one side and on the other side LeMoyne Owen College Purple and Gold. Sidney was offered an academic scholarship to TSU and an academic and athletic scholarship to LeMoyne Owen College. The big moment came as everyone gathered outside in the backyard and Sidney had a big box that was wrapped up, there was a countdown and Sidney cut open the box and purple and gold balloons flew out to signify that she had chosen LeMoyne Owen College. Sidney will be singing her letter of intent in April to become a member of the LeMoyne Owen College Magicians.
