The Friends of McCalla and MYAA have a fun and busy day planned at the new McCalla Youth Athletic Complex and Park on Saturday, April 24. Three fields are completed and ready for league play: First Financial Field, Bright Star Field, and Buddy Moore Field. McCalla youth of all ages will be playing baseball and softball for the remainder of the spring season, as well as the fall season.
Everyone in the McCalla area is invited to watch some baseball and softball games, as well as take a walk around the Park on the walking trail. There will be food trucks, local boutiques, craft vendors, and bouncy houses to provide enjoyment for adults and children.
The Park is located next to McAdory Elementary School on Eastern Valley Road. Entry is free with net proceeds from sales going to help complete batting cages and a playground. Gates open at 11 AM and remain open until 5 PM. Plenty of parking will be available.
If you have any questions, contact Skipper Goodwin at 205.332.3240 or Patrick Jones at 205.602.7262.
Come on out and have some fun. You may want to just sit and relax and enjoy the games. You may want to plan to grab some lunch or snacks. Who knows, you may even look around and find some crafts or other goodies that you want or need. Look forward to seeing you and your neighbors at the Park.
