Laney Binion of Hueytown was crowned Miss Alabama for America 2019 on Saturday night. The pageant took place at the Pell City Center for Education and Performing Arts. Miss Binion competed in interview, swimsuit and evening gown competitions for the title. She also took home awards in the following categories Memory Book, Contestants Choice, and Miss Photogenic. Laney is a Certified Phlebotomist with Cunningham Pathology and is the daughter Laurel and Jon.

As one of her many prizes, Laney will receive an expense-paid trip to represent Alabama in the MISS FOR AMERICA COMPETITION which will be held in August at the Westgate Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Miss Hueytown Caitlin Brooke Capleton competed in the competition and was crowned First Alternate and received several other awards also Miss Amity, People’s Choice and Fabulous Face.

Miss for Alabama America is the new division of the Mrs. Alabama America pageant that local Brittany Scoggins won in 2017. This new pageant is available for unmarried women ages 18 and over.

During the pageant, Hoover’s Elizabeth Boger was crowned Mrs. Alabama America.
