The Planet Project is a collaboration of different artists who come together to make, sell, and show their art. The meaning behind this art is to show nothing goes to waste; everything means something to the world. The Hueytown High School Art Club created a sculpture using recycled materials, such as T-shirts, paper plates, and yarn, which will be on display this weekend at the Moss Rock Art Festival. Mrs. Bland and her students have been creating art for the festival for about seven years. This year the art club spent a month creating their sculpture. Their artwork is called Plate Of Flowers. In the end, their artwork was beautiful! It represented that you can turn something old into something new and more beautiful. If you are interested in seeing the sculptures and other great works by local artists, come out to the Moss Rock Art Festival this weekend, November 2-3 at the Moss Rock Preserve.
