The Foundry Ministries will distribute 168 Boxes of Hope to low-income, elderly, and disadvantaged families in Bessemer. Each Box of Hope is filled with a freshly prepared Thanksgiving meal complete with turkey, dressing, and all the fixings.
Ministry volunteers will also serve a traditional holiday meal to disadvantaged individuals and families at their community Thanksgiving lunch on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m.. Later in the week, participants of The Foundry’s Recovery program will enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. In total, over 300 meals will be served to program participants and guests of their community Thanksgiving lunch. An estimated 40 volunteers will help the ministry serve these meals. Anyone in the community who is hungry or homeless, who can’t afford the cost of preparing a traditional holiday meal or who desires fellowship and encouragement is invited to attend the community Thanksgiving lunch.
