On Tuesday, July 20, during the Bessemer City Council meeting Jefferson County Commissioner Shelia Tyson delivered 20 ASUS Computers. The computers are being donated to different organizations around Bessemer, including the Bessemer Boys and Girls Club, Bessemer Recreation Center, STEM Education Inc., and Dunbar Community Center. Commissioner Tyson says the pandemic exposed the lack of accessibility in some communities, “I believe that every child should have access to computers with highspeed internet access. The internet is the gateway to the world and our children deserve to dream big dreams”. The computer donation is a partnership between Jefferson County and The Loyalty Foundation. The Loyalty Foundation will also be providing computer training virtually.
