The Jefferson County Commission voted on Tuesday to keep the Courthouse and its satellite locations closed until April 30 due to the Cororonavirus outbreak. They are coordinating with their partner agencies such as the EMA to help with infrastructure support and planning of the new Joint Incident Command Center.

The Jefferson County Commision has created a special FAQ for citizens to answer questions at the top of JCCAL.org (http://www.jccal.org/Default.asp?ID=2066&pg=COVID19+FAQ#192) This is updated daily.

A special phone number for people to call with questions has been setup it is 205-325-5171. It’s manned during normal business hours.

Car tag renewal

New car tags

Building and trade permits, such as plumbing or electrical

Lands records

Marriage license

And some filings with Probate court

Cooper Green Mercy Health Services is open and caring for the indigent citizens in our community. Urgent care is open and we are prioritizing high risk patients. We are asking patients to call 205.930-3265 before coming to the clinic for help so we can best serve them. And, we will start doing tele-medicine for our patients that have regular visits scheduled, so they don’t have to risk leaving home.
